Remote Jobster

Ad Quality Guidelines

Remote Jobster exists to connect remote-first companies with candidates who are genuinely looking for remote work. The quality of our listings directly affects the experience of every candidate on the platform.

These guidelines define what we expect from every listing posted on Remote Jobster. We review listings on publication and on an ongoing basis. Listings that violate these guidelines may be removed without refund.

Our quality standards

Clarity

A quality listing clearly describes what the candidate will be doing, what skills are required, and what they can expect from the role and company. Vague or deliberately misleading descriptions are not acceptable.

Honesty

All information in a listing — compensation, seniority, remote type, company details — must be accurate. Significantly understating or overstating any aspect of the role is a violation of our guidelines.

Relevance

Listings must be for roles that are genuinely remote-compatible. A role that requires 4 days per week in a specific office should not be listed as "remote". We assess listings based on their actual remote modality, not their self-classification.

Professionalism

Listings must be written in a professional tone and must not contain offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate language. We reserve the right to remove listings that, in our judgement, do not meet a minimum standard of professionalism.

Compliance

All listings must comply with employment law in the jurisdictions where they apply. This includes compliance with anti-discrimination law, data protection law (GDPR where applicable), and any job advertising requirements specific to the role or industry.

What every listing must include

The following information is required for all listings. Incomplete listings may be returned for revision before going live.

  • A genuine, currently available position — not a speculative or pipeline listing
  • Accurate job title that matches the actual role
  • Honest description of responsibilities and day-to-day work
  • Clear remote type: fully remote, hybrid, or remote-friendly
  • Time zone requirements or flexibility (e.g. "CET ±3 hours" or "Fully async, no time zone restriction")
  • Employment type: full-time, part-time, or contract
  • Compensation range — strongly recommended and may be required for future listings
  • Company name and website that can be verified
  • A working application method: a form, email, or external link that functions correctly

What is prohibited

The following content and listing types are not permitted on Remote Jobster:

  • Fake, expired, or filled positions that are no longer available
  • Misleading job titles that misrepresent the seniority or nature of the role
  • Multi-level marketing (MLM), pyramid schemes, or commission-only roles presented as employed positions
  • Listings that require upfront payment or purchases from candidates
  • Roles that discriminate on the basis of age, gender, race, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics
  • Listings that collect personal data through unofficial channels (e.g. requesting passport copies in the job description)
  • Impersonation of another company or brand
  • Listings that serve as phishing or social engineering attempts
  • Adult content or any content that is not suitable for a professional employment context
  • Roles that primarily involve recruiting others into the same role (downline recruitment)

Enforcement

We review all listings before publication and conduct ongoing automated and manual checks of live listings. We reserve the right to remove, edit, or suspend any listing that violates these guidelines at our sole discretion.

First violation: We will notify you by email and either request revision or remove the listing. In most cases of good-faith error, we work with employers to bring listings into compliance.

Deliberate or repeated violations: Accounts that repeatedly violate these guidelines or that post deliberately deceptive or harmful content will be suspended without refund and may be permanently banned from the platform.

Immediate removal: Listings that pose a risk to candidate safety or data security — phishing attempts, data-harvesting schemes, fraudulent opportunities — will be removed immediately without notice and reported to relevant authorities where appropriate.

Reporting a listing

If you encounter a listing on Remote Jobster that you believe violates these guidelines, please report it by emailing hello@remotejobster.com with the subject line "Listing Report" and a link to the listing in question. We review all reports and respond within 2 business days.

Reporting a listing is confidential. We do not share reporter information with the employer whose listing was reported.

Questions about these guidelines

If you are unsure whether a listing you want to post is compliant with these guidelines, contact us before posting at hello@remotejobster.com. We are happy to review and advise — we would rather help you post a compliant listing than remove one after it goes live.
